About this workshop

Discover the meditative beauty of Ikebana, the Japanese art of flower arrangement, in this hands-on workshop led by floral and spatial designer Meghaa Modi, who is a Master in Ohara Ikebana from Tokyo.

Rather than simply arranging flowers decoratively, Ikebana explores the relationship between line, proportion, space, movement and natural form. Through a live demonstration and guided practice, Meghaa will introduce participants to the principles behind this centuries-old Japanese art form and show how restraint and thoughtful placement can transform flowers and foliage into a sculptural composition.

The workshop offers a calm, creative opportunity to slow down, work with nature and develop a more considered eye for floral design. No previous floral design experience is required, making the session suitable for complete beginners as well as anyone interested in flowers, design, Japanese aesthetics or mindful creative practice.
