Our Story
Founded in 2012 by Bruce Tegart and Christian De Ponte, Embody Wellness grew from a shared vision into an independent wellbeing centre shaped by their experience in hospitality, operations and client care.

A local wellness centre built with purpose
Embody Wellness opened in St George Wharf, Vauxhall, in 2012. Bruce and Christian wanted to create a welcoming local wellness centre where movement, hands-on therapies and professional care could sit under one roof.
From an empty commercial unit, they built a centre for yoga, Pilates and fitness classes, massage, beauty treatments, physiotherapy and osteopathy. Embody remains independently owned and closely connected to Vauxhall / Nine Elms.

From empty unit to wellness centre
The original unit was a large, undeveloped concrete space. A complete six-month interior build transformed it into a centre planned around how clients, teachers and therapists would use the space.
The photographs below follow that journey from empty shell to Embody Wellness.

Growing with Vauxhall / Nine Elms
Since 2012, Embody has grown alongside Vauxhall / Nine Elms. New teachers, therapists, practitioners and services have joined the centre, while its independent character and personal approach have remained constant.
Today, clients can combine classes, massage, beauty treatments, physiotherapy and osteopathy in one familiar centre, supported by professional care, high standards and a welcoming team.
Where hospitality meets wellbeing
Bruce’s focus on hospitality and client care complements Christian’s experience in operations, business transformation and customer experience. Together, they established a simple principle: professional wellness services should feel personal, welcoming and dependable.
That balance still guides Embody, combining thoughtful day-to-day care with the consistency and long-term direction needed to sustain an independent local wellness centre.
I’ve watched Embody evolve alongside Nine Elms over the years, and what has remained constant is its commitment to people. It’s far more than a wellness centre. It’s a place where neighbours meet, friendships form and wellbeing becomes part of everyday life. As the area continues to grow, it’s exciting to see Embody remain at the heart of the community, helping people feel healthier, stronger and more connected.
