Barre Fusion, Strength & Flexibility or Circuit & Stretch?

Each class has a different focus. Start with the one that appeal most, then explore and combine styles as your confidence grows.

Barre Fusion

Toning · Control · Posture

Barre Fusion combines ballet-inspired barre exercises with Pilates-based movement and dynamic stretching. It is controlled rather than dance-led, making it approachable even if you have never tried Barre before.

  • Low-impact strength and muscular endurance
  • Core, posture and balance
  • Controlled movement with adaptable options
  • No dance experience required

BEST FOR BEGINNERS

Why choose Barre Fusion?

Choose Barre if you like precise, focused movement and want to build strength without a high-impact workout. It is also a good bridge for people who enjoy Pilates but want something a little more dynamic.

Circuit & Stretch

Endurance · Conditioning · Strength

Circuit & Stretch is a dynamic session using individual exercise stations, bodyweight work and small equipment, finishing with a dedicated stretching section. The pace is livelier, but exercises can still be adapted to different levels.

  • Strength and cardio in one session
  • Varied stations keep the workout engaging
  • Whole-body muscular endurance
  • Stretching built into the class

MOST ENERGETIC

Why choose Circuit & Stretch?

Choose Circuit & Stretch if you enjoy variety, want a more active workout and like moving between different exercises rather than repeating one movement style throughout class.

Strength & Flexibility

Mobility · Strength · Alignment

Strength & Flexibility pairs functional strengthening with mobility and stretching to support stability, comfortable movement and everyday function. The emphasis is balanced rather than high-intensity.

  • Functional whole-body strengthening
  • Mobility and flexibility work
  • Low-impact approach
  • Useful for everyday movement and stability

BALANCED APPROACH

Why choose Strength & Flexibility?

Choose this class if you want to feel stronger and more mobile without a fast-paced workout. It works well on its own or alongside yoga, Pilates, running and other training.

Barre & fitness class questions

Useful answers if you’re deciding where to start or how these classes fit alongside Yoga and Pilates.

How are Barre and fitness classes different from Pilates and Yoga?

Barre and fitness classes put more emphasis on conditioning, functional strength and varied movement. Pilates focuses on controlled strength, core stability, posture and technique, while Yoga combines movement with mobility, balance and breath. There is useful overlap between them, and many clients mix more than one style.

Are these classes suitable for beginners?

Yes. We welcome newcomers as well as more experienced clients, and teachers offer options for different levels. Barre Fusion requires no dance experience. Check the level shown in the live schedule and ask us if you are unsure which class to choose.

Is Barre suitable for men?

Yes. Barre is a strength, balance and mobility class rather than a dance class, and it is open to everyone. Men attend Barre at Embody and no dance experience is needed.

Which class should I try first?

Choose Barre Fusion for controlled low-impact strength, Circuit & Stretch for a most energetic and varied workout, or Strength & Flexibility for a balanced strength-and-mobility session. Our five-class new-client offer is also a useful way to try different styles.

What should I wear or bring?

Wear comfortable workout clothing that allows you to move freely. Equipment used in class is provided, so you do not need to bring specialist kit.
