Kasia grew up in Poland where she came into contact with yoga as a teenager before going on to study for her Master’s Degree in Iberian and South American history, language and culture. After finishing her studies she moved to Scotland and in Edinburgh she discovered Ashtanga Vinyasa classes. This powerful practice enabled her to experience the effect of breaking through limitations of body, mind and emotions.
Kasia teaches traditional Ashtanga and Vinyasa Flow classes where postures are linked together by breath. Over the years she has studied many traditions and forms of yoga with many inspirational yoga teachers in the UK and India including Sharath Jois, John Scott, Shiva Rea, Dharma Mittra, Vankatesh, Matthew Sweeney, Julie Gudmestad and Uma Dinsmore-Tuli. She continues to deepen her practice under the guidance of Hamish Hendry.
Kasia combines her passion and love of yoga with a deepening knowledge of alignment and body mechanics. She is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with Yoga Alliance, a Chavutti Thirumal (Indian rope massage) therapist and a Reiki practitioner.
Her favourite poses are backbends as they are both physically and emotionally complex. On a physical level, they engage large muscle groups and require deep breath work, stimulating the endocrine system and helping to maintain a supple spine. Emotionally, they inspire trust and faith as you bend back into the unknown. Also teaching patience and equanimity, backbends help access the heart centre releasing emotions stored in this area.
